I ’ve abruptly been getting motion on ourforumregarding some unusual things people are seeing on their rose . fortuitously all of these things have one affair in vernacular .
The fall season .
blush wine are deciduous and go sleeping during the winter . Because of this they , like other deciduous shrubs and Tree , are transitioning to winter . So this is normal . That being say let ’s reckon at what you might be seeing .

Leaf drop . Many roses this time of yr drop their leaves more than normal . It ’s nothing to panic about as it happens every year . Mine are doing it now . As fall wears on you wo n’t see new foliage strike their place . The old leaves will just pass off and that will be that .
This bring us to the question of should you rake the old leave out . This was always thought to be a good idea because disease spore might lurk on the old leaves and taint the plants . I ’m miscellaneous on this . I ’ve read some recent studies suggesting when the leaf miss off and die out disease spores expire with them . I also dormant spray my roses with lime and sulphur in winter and make indisputable to get the ground as well . That will take care of any linger disease . However , if you favour the rake the bed uncontaminating then go ahead . It wo n’t hurt .
strange amount of disease like blackspot or powdery mold . This is also normal this time of year . Part of it is the weather pattern of affectionate twenty-four hours and nerveless nights . While I ’m not a botanist I muse that the plant are putting their energy into function dormant and therefore are n’t as focalise on push disease . If any of you are qualified to resolve mu speculations I ’d have sex to hear from you .

Strange bloom shapes . This can be everything from flowers that do n’t open up to ones with immature “ vegetive centers ” , to ace that seem like they came out of a Salvador Dali painting . This also seems to be the weather . Those cool nights , warm days , a sudden hoar ; all can contribute to this . If they bother you , curve them off and if not leave them so they can fall off and the rose can place hips .
Very little raw development . Again normal . The roses do it it ’s time to shut down and stop make Modern maturation . Plus , lovesome new growth can be badly damage by a hoar or freeze and we do n’t require it anyway . It ’s one of the reasons we break off fertilize this time of year .
These are just a few of the things you may be seeing out of your roses that seem singular or unlike this time of year . Do n’t panic if you do see them , but if you see something you find you should be worried about put up a picture on the rose assembly . We ’ll take a flavour and then I ’ll post the answer back here as well .
