Revisiting to a Massachusetts garden that shines through all the seasons

Today we ’re returning to the always beautiful garden of Tingshu Hu in Dunstable , Massachusetts . We ’ve seen her garden through the seasons ( Spring : Flowering Trees in Tingshu ’s Garden , summer : Summer in Tingshu ’s Front GardenandBack Garden , and fall : Tingshu ’s Massachusetts Garden ) , and most of late saw her transform a deadened patch of her lawn into a low - sustainment haven ( Tingshu ’s Low Maintenance Garden in Massachusetts ) . Now we will be seeing all of the unbelievable plants and sexual union that smoothen in her garden during the transitional menses of late summer . Today is a focussing on her back gardens and tomorrow we will back to tour the front garden , which will include an update on that unbelievable low - maintenance space she showed off earlier this yr .
The eye of the back garden is a Prairiefire crabapple(Malusx ‘ Prairifire ’ , Zones 4–8 ) . The picture show some ramification of the tree debase with cherry-red berries . Below the crabapple tree are a few coleus plant , surrounded bycreeping jenny(Lysimachianummularia , Zones 4–8).Beside the crabapple tree areJapanese Barberry(Berberisthunbergii , Zones 5–8)and gnome Colorado blue spruce .

Another focal point in the back garden is the fish pond . One yellow lotus(Nelumbo lutea , Zones 4–11)is blooming in the pool . Another lotus with pink flowergrows in a pot beside a pergola . There are many gold Pisces and bull frogs in the pond . A snake on a regular basis confab the pool . Around the fish pool are low raise and humbled criminal maintenance priming coat covers . A few annuals , Sallyfun ™ Deep Ocean salvia(Salviafarinacea‘Deep Ocean ’ , annual),floss flower(Ageratum houstonianum , annual)and zinnia , contribute long lasting color . The yellow and orangish blossom on the right side are black - eyed Susan andrudbeckia . A Nipponese maple and a redtwig dogwood are on the back ( due north ) side of the pond . Between them is a tall garden phlox with pink flush .

On the other side of the itinerary are white flower oflilium ‘ Casa Blanca’(Zones 4–9),red rose and pinkish dahlia . The ground embrace along the way are mostly fawn jenny andajuga . Next year they should fill up all the gaps .

Also visible are the pinkish flowers of aJapanese anemone(Anemone hupehensisvar.japonica , Zones 5–7)and pinkish rose flowers . Below the stone wall are zinnias and a assumed cypress .

The Nipponese anemone bloom are very adorable looking from their back .
Under a wisteria pergola , looking toward the center of the garden . Two silk melon ( luffa ) flow from the pergola . Pink phlox blossom along the metallic element fence .
Dahlia flowers — Maybe Happy Single Juliet ( Dahlia‘HS Juliet ’ , zona 3–10)?—with inaugural pasture in the background .
