When I pop this blog … I was really on a horticulture kick . Every plant … every seeded player … every newfangled harvest time engaged me .
For almost the last year , I compose a gardening clause every week or two … then started FloridaSurvivalGardening.com as a daily blog at the last of August .
But now I ’m getting antsy . Sure … the readership has picked up … but the fire is n’t there any more . I get at least 200 visitors most days . They ’re mostly the form of kinsfolk that like horticulture , sexual love homesteading , are seek to live the econopocalypse … or all of the above .
I ’ve partly keep writing because I do n’t desire to permit people down . It is n’t easy to keep up a post a day … specially when I ’m becoming more concerned in other things .
That said , DON’T think I ’m about to take leave committal to writing ! Not at all ! I ’m just cash in one’s chips to take thing in a different counsel .
Though you may not know it , I have another beloved besides garden . And it ’s that love which has become a total obsession over the last few month .
( Promise not to express mirth ? )
I love simulation train . Particularly HO weighing machine train . Since visit a holiday hardening - up in the center as a kid , I found them enthralling . I imagined the cargoes they could comport … put myself in the shoes of their tiny rider … and imagine myself as a conductor .
At historic period 12 I cause my first gear set as a gift from my Grandmother . And over the years I ’ve add together tracks … tot engines … added houses … added trees … added little workmen … and solder connections and sanded track to keep the wheel deform in effective working ordering . ( I hate flip or crashing my models . I ’m not Mr. Addams ! )
The great affair about HO train is that the parts are quite reasonable – and there are often second - hired man set uncommitted . Is it a psychoneurotic pursuit ? An one-time human ’s passion ? A “ Thomas Kid - that - never - grew - up ” thing to do ?
Maybe . But I do n’t care . If Google can honor Cesar Chavez instead of Jesus on Easter … I can certainly make a much smaller change to this web log , good ?
Over the next few weeks I ’m proceed to introduce you to the man of exemplar railway , giving you baksheesh on buying , building and repair sets . We ’ll even dig into handcrafting the landscape gardening and tunnels . Unlike horticulture , this is a pursuit foreveryone . And … even better … you do n’t have to await to get started ! A fruit tree take years to bear – but a power train set can be love mightily now – no dig need .
