garden
It ’s our wedding ceremony day of remembrance this weekend , so Mrs P and I are living it up in Birmingham , of all seat , but most importantly we are unencumbered by the plurality ofcuttingschildren . Still , being away for the weekend is no excuse for pretermit a Six post , so let ’s go . Time for Six on Saturday . Six thing , in the garden , on a Saturday . Could be anything – a job to do , a foliage , a peter , a labor , a pest , anything at all . fall in in !
Here are my Six for this hebdomad .

1 – Hosta leafage . By right this should have shrink up and disappear by now , but this hosta is lingering . The leave have turned a fetching ( if more or less anemic ) shadowiness of orange .
2 – Cornus MA alba , stem . Last weekend I authorize all the pesky jasmine that was obscuring the root word of this dogwood . It ’s one I ’ve featured before but now the folio have all deteriorate and the stems are very much in grounds . Nice and red after I dress it right back early springtime . I shall be doing the same thing next spring , I ’ll utilise these stems as supports for perennial . knavish plan !
3 – Perovskia , russian sage . I ’ve two of these from hardwood thinning taken last year . I ’m look them to be garden - suitable next spring , I just demand to cut them back to get good stem .

4 – Sidalcea ‘ vino red ’ . A ruth - bench purchase at some point over the summer , it is suppose about flowering . It ’s a lump organise perennial , with round leaf . It should flower in July and August , spikes of ( clue ’s in the name ) wine red , discus shaped flowers . It is languish in a grass for now , but will do mid - border obligation next yr , localisation to be confirm .
5 . Geum ’s galore . I have bought a few over the last couple of months , all clearance buy . I have happily dissever them all as I got them home , so now have a trivial stockpile of genus Geum to institute out . They are a mix of ‘ Totally Tangerine ’ and ‘ Lady Stratheden ’ , orange and scandalmongering severally . know a geum .
6 . Erica australis ‘ Amy Doncaster ’ . Another pity - bench leverage ( do you observe a recurring theme ? ) . It ’s evergreen plant , a tree diagram heather of sorts I reckon . It should finally get to about 150 cm . Originally found by the nominal Amy as a seedling in her garden in Chandler ’s Ford about a billion year ago . That ’s about all I know . Must constitute it somewhere .
