SixOnSaturday

So here we are , fearless new ( old ) world post - election .   I do n’t especially like the upshot but it was certainly unequivocal so , for upright or ill , we move on and make the best of it . I am focussed on the fact that in only 18 days I will sow my first seeds of 2020 . Just the chilli seeds , but still , I will savour doing it .   In the meantime it is time for Six on Saturday . Six thing , in the garden , on a Saturday . Could be anything , a bloom , a leaf , a job to do , a pest , a fungus , anything at all . link up in !

Here are my Six for this week .

1 – Cat line of work .   I emptied out this plantation owner a few weeks ago and loaded it up with tete - a - tete daffs and some re - distributed tritelia laxa ‘ queen fabiola ’ .   Something has been in there dig , or at least touch the peace . I distrust computerized axial tomography , belike ours .   I demand to tidy up and put some netting out until the development fills out .   Some of the daffs are set out to sprout .

2 – Daffodils .   Talking of daffs , these are the first ones up out of the undercoat .   I think they are bog - stock scandalmongering daffs planted two or three long time ago . Bog standard or not , I ’m very happy to see them .

3 – Savlia cut . These arecaradonna , late newspaper clipping that I take a couple of calendar month ago . The hydropod was out of commission ( for which read ‘ necessitate a good sportsmanlike ’ ) so I set them up round the edge of a pot and then into a Ziploc bagful they went .   I ’ve murder the dark-brown one , they have failed to fly high . I do n’t see theme out the bottom of the corporation yet , but I was ineffective to resist giving the unripe ones a calorie-free tug – I think they have rooted .   I ’m going to go out them be until March , no need to commove them now .

4 – Tropaeolum tuberosum ‘ Ken Aslet ’ .   This is a more or less hardy physique of climbing nasturtium .   Brigitte , a garden Twitter friend , sent me these tubers in the berth this week . They would probably be ok alfresco in my conditions but I will salt away these in sand over the wintertime and pot them up in March to go out after the frosts . It should get to 2 molar concentration in the first time of year and should do a dainty occupation covering a bit of fencing .

5 – Hellebore , received return .   Those bud from a twosome of weeks back ?   come out to play now .

6 – Jolly Boating atmospheric condition .   Last weekend Mrs P and I were off near Bath , remain on a narrowboat . We visited the American Museum just outside Bath . In summation to the rather eclectic premix of display , there is a decent sized garden .   All pretty bare or dead just now , of course , but I do like a wander round a garden . There was an enormous great swathe of 6’+ allium skeletons . I marvel if they are the same as my improbable ones ?
