To keep costs down , I used two fertile twenty-five percent ( cost $ 7 ) for my pillow forepart and drop textile for thepillow backs . Cut a material square for your cloth for the pillow front that is 1 in greater in length and 1 inch greater inwidth than the pillow form . I cut out a piece that is 17 by 17 inches because my pillow form is 16 by 16 inches .

Because this is an envelope cover , you will need a slightly wider fabric spell for the pillow back . To make the envelope part , follow this unproblematic pattern : Take your pillow mannikin dimension andadd 1 inch to the duration and 5 inches to the breadth . For my pillow , that means cutting out a piece of fabric that is 17 by 21 inches .

Next , trim down the back piece into one-half , leaving you with two 17- by 10½-inch piece for my case . On each of the pillow back pieces , doublefold under the long ( 17 - inch ) edge of both pieces . Press andtop stitch .

With veracious face together , place the two back slice on top of the front pieces . The finishededges should overlap and give you the envelope effect .

Using a 1/2 ” furrow allowance , run up around the integral pillow cover . act and press .

Putting together the pillow cover is loose . For more elaborated instructions , see my tutorialHowto Make an Envelope Pillowthat explain all of the steps ( with additional directions showing howto run up a French wrinkle ) .
