From grass to garden

I am from Phoenixville , Pennsylvania where I run a homeless outreach non - profit and bid plants and seedling from the garden in telephone exchange for donations . Our web site ishttps://BDAOutreach.orgto find out more !
I ’ve been cultivate on call on my side yard into one vast garden for four or five class total now . We had some foreign-born pines in this spot ; they all died , so I started one layer at a metre . I go heavy with nativepollinatorsandperennialsbut also plenty of ornamental . There ’s enough room for everything here !

The yard six years ago — before it start turning into a garden
Lush plants now fill the surface area , like these hugehardy hibiscus(Hibiscushybrids , Zones 5–9 ) derived from native species that shoot a line Brobdingnagian bloom and beautiful foliage .
A Brobdingnagian mass ofzinnias(Zinniaelegans , yearly ) blooms in shades of orange and red . Zinnias are aboriginal to Mexico and are easilygrown from seedto fill a gay area with flowers .

Along with all the planting in the ground , container ofhouseplants outside for a summervacation are trace up along the walk . invest houseplants outside for the summertime — train care to move them into bright sun step by step so the leaf do n’t burn up — is a great , leisurely way to help them thrive .
helianthus ( Helianthusannuus , one-year ) are North American native and are easy to grow from seminal fluid . As you could see if you look tight here , they ’re big hits with bees and other pollinators , and then call on intoliving hiss feedersas the seeds mature .

Containers of petunias ( Petuniahybrids , Zones 9–11 or as an one-year ) add extra pops of colouration to the garden .
