Today ’s picture are from Phillippa Lack in Cheyenne , Wyoming . Phillippa says,“I am to begin with from Jamaica , where everything grows by itself ! I have gardened in the U.S. in Corpus Christi , Texas ; Little Rock , Arkansas ; Beulah , North Dakota ; Alameda , California ; and now … wonderful Wyoming ! It has been a stretchiness to garden here , but I ’m glad to say that my garden has flourish .
“ We have a minuscule seating area area , with a fence that protect from the Wyoming Zephyr that blow almost constantly . The fountain furnish rippling sounds . The basket in one photo is an experimentation . It began as petunias and laurentia , then I added a climbing green bean and a daybreak halo ! I start all my petunias and other annual under a grow light source with a light rail in the basement , near our hot water boiler . By the closing of April I can put them into the transitional small seed house outside to season off , then out to the pots .
“ I now not only grow flowers but also vegetables . I have just clear my covered unripened dome bed ( last exposure ) and will be putting in lettuces , radish , and spinach for the fall and early wintertime . The inhuman frame is really cash in one’s chips to be tested this year , as it has no heat , but I am optimistic that the Wyoming sunlight will allow for enough for anything but our cold months .

“ I still work part prison term as an internet technician for a local entanglement hosting company , and my bare clock time is either in the garden or in my studio , where I do fiber art of various kinds . I always say that horticulture in Wyoming is like a 2nd marriage … a victory of hope over experience . It is challenge to be sure . ”
I ’ve been to Cheyenne , Phillippa , and I retrieve you forgot to advert the HAIL ! I ’ve heard that Cheyenne has the secondly - mellow one-year amount of hail in the U.S. That ’s quite a horticulture challenge , too ! I call back you ’re up for it , though . Thanks for portion out your garden with us !
