Opuntia polyacantha is aboriginal toNorth America . It is widespread in westernCanada , theGreat Plains , the Cicily Isabel Fairfield and the centralUnited States , and Chihuahua in northernMexico .
Opuntia polyacanthais a shrubbycactuswith ellipse , green , spiny pad growing one atop the other . It can farm up to 16 inch ( 40 centimetre ) tall and 10 foot ( 3 m ) broad . The pads can reach up to 10 column inch ( 25 atomic number 96 ) in distance and up to 7 column inch ( 17.5 cm ) in width . The areoles are tipped with woolly brownish fibers and glochidium . Many of the areoles bear spines that vary in size and anatomy .
The flowers are yellow to magenta and look in early summertime . They can reach up to 1.6 inch ( 4 centimeter ) in diam . The yield are cylindrical , brownish , and have short , stout spine .

Though the large variety of species within theOpuntiagenus imply different Prickly Pears may call for slightly different care . All are desert cacti that need raft of Lord’s Day , light , and very little piss . So , if you last in a hot , desiccate area , these plant can generally be plant outdoors , leave behind alone , and enjoyed .
These cactus will produce just hunky-dory in a garden but can also be grown in mass . To repot , assure the grunge is dry , remove the pot , and take away the quondam land .
