Susan Langenes of Portland , Oregon share these photos she contain of her garden on February 14th . Though her mild climate means there are some flower blossom now , she mostly relies on unbelievable foliation to make a colorful late - winter / early fountain showing .

Arctostaphylos pajaroensis‘Paradise ’ ( manzanita , Zones 8 -10 ) with Red leaved heather ( Calluna vulgaris‘Robert Chapman ’ , zone 4 – 6 ) .

A gorgeous , water - soaked red leaved euphorbia ( Euphorbiaxmartiniieither ‘ Rudolph ’ or ‘ Red Martin ’ , Zones 6 – 9 ) .
