Make a tasty treat that’ll bring the garden birds flocking
Now if you ’re anything like me then you ’ll also be slightly obsessed with something very specific in your garden , and no – it ’s not plants this time ! Whenever I ’m out there , among the flora , I ’m always conscious of the wildlife around me , and what our garden is doing for them as much as it is for me and my family . We ’re all more cognisant of the part pollinators play in our garden , but we must also deal how we can support the wider habitat for birds too .
My young daughters love nothing more than feeding the birds and putting out all sort of kickshaw for them , all class round . you may get all manner of feeds and feeders from garden center , pet shops and more , and we do buy them , but how much play is it to make your own from scrape from time to metre ! So , this issue , I ’m share our favourite way to give the raspberry a nutritious and tasty snack using a coconut and a few other simple materials .
tone 1

Start preparing your coconut palm . On one last you ’ll find three ‘ oculus ’ that are the softer part of the taboo shell , that you may drill into or intercept at lightly with a mallet and pocket-sized screwdriver .
Step 2
Once the ‘ eyes ’ are infract , drain the inner liquid . You may think this is coconut milk , when in fact it is coconut body of water – the Milk River is made from crunch up the inner ‘ flesh ’ into a milky substance .

Step 3
snap open your coconut by using loyal but gentle strike with a hammer until you start to see signs of cracking . The purpose is to get as clean a faulting as possible , right the room round the centre of the coconut .
whole step 4

Once your cocoanut is undefended and in two art object , simply cut away the white at bottom until you ’ve just got the shell leave . Keep the delicious white pulp to exhaust or save it to use in cooking or bake .
Step 5
Thread a art object of string through the hole you antecedently made to extract the piss . This is how you ’ll hang your boo birdfeeder up in your garden , so make the string long enough for where you ’ll be placing it .

Step 6
Melt enough lard to fill the Cocos nucifera shell in a saucepan .
Step 7

Carefully pour a shallow layer of lard into your racing shell and add seeds and mealworms and admit it to dry out . Repeat this process and make as many layers as you’re able to to fill the cuticle , then put it aside to ready firm .
footfall 8
Hang your bird feeder up in a home that birds like then sit back and savor the pleasure of watching them excitable pilot to your specially handcrafted skirt confluent !
