This elixir is well known amongst herbalist and has been made by many of us for years now . Check out this easy recipe – I make this every fall after I harvest my horseradish – to employ throughout the wintertime months for a world-wide tonic and to help fight colds and flu . The creator of this recipe is Rosemary Gladstar ; the first time I taste Fire Cider acetum was when I took her Herbal Apprentice Course in 2004 and have been making my own version ever since .

The basic recipe admit saucy horseradish solution , gingerroot , garlic , onion and cayenne peppers infuse in organic apple cider vinegar . There are many different adaptations . The Free Fire Cider entanglement site ( www.freefirecider.com ) includes lemon , Orange , rosemary and Curcuma domestica . In the past , I have contribute elderberries for an additional boost for the immune system – it does make it a glum color . ( For further info on keeping fire cider acetum spare for the people rather than brandmark see the aforementioned entanglement site ) .

To make fire cider , I rankle the horseradish and gingerroot , chop the ail and onion and mince the chile peppercorn . I do n’t really measure – just sort of follow the recipe broadly – I commonly double the formula so I have plenty for my class and some to share . I essay to call back to agitate it daily and let it infuse for anywhere from 4 to 6 week – although if I need it I use it even after jsut 24 60 minutes of infusion . Sometimes , I strive it off and other meter , I just pour it as needed . Some folks like to sum up a lilliputian snatch of love to make it more palatable , which also is great for coughing or a grating pharynx .

The following recipe is an adaption by Andrea Reisen , of Healing tone Herb Farm and Education Center ( www.healingspiritsherbfarm.com ) , published in the International Herb Association ’s bookHorseradish , Herb of the Year 2011.(Book is available atwww.iherb.org).I take it direct by the teaspoonful , however it can be stretch with piss or a bit of succus . Andrea also use it as a wipe for sore muscles and aching joints .
