Looking forward to spring
Today we ’re visiting with Lee , who garden in primal New York State . We ’ve shoot the breeze Lee ’s garden before ( Early Spring peak from the Mohawk Valley ) .
Greetings from the Mohawk Valley . We ’re in our winter lull , as most of us are in the top half of the commonwealth . It has been a high winter thus far , and I ’m looking for that to continue , thoughone violent storm can changethe full new ballgame . Here are some pics of beautifultulipsI put together — nothing really special but lots of color .
I like everyone anearly transition into springso we all can get going .

The color of this classic , vivid redtulip and the distinctive blotch at the gist of the bloom are thought to have develop to promotepollination by beetlesaround the Mediterranean where wild tulip are native .
As wonderful as brilliantly colored , bold tulip are , the soft tones have their own subtler attraction . This white tulip with dew on it is an refined sweetheart .
Double - blossom tulips boast extra layer of petal that whole change the looking at of the blossom . This one also adds dramatic flames of red to the bright yellow petals . Just what you need after a farseeing winter !

Not to the full double , a few excess flower petal add interest to this adorable pink tulip .
This double is so full it almost does n’t look like a tulip anymore . No wonder such flowers are sometimes called peony - flowered tulips .
Here are two different red - and - yellowish tulip . The ones in the back are called fringed tulips because each petal sharpness is lined with a delicate fringe . The intricacies of these efflorescence solicit to be search at up nigh , so site them near the boundary of a path or cut down some to relish in a vase .

fringe AND double , this pinkish variety is a foaming spring confection .
Parrot tulip have unusual petals that see a fiddling sliced rather than fringed and often twist into unusual shapes , sometimes mark off with plash of park . This one looks like the Greco-Roman miscellany ‘ Black Parrot ’ .
What blooms are you most look forward to construe this spring ?
