A gorgeous greenhouse and a garden to live up to it
Welcome to Dale Coulter ’s garden in Sutton , Massachusetts .
I have always wanted agreenhouseto be my next horticulture challenge . I have been an avid gardener for old age , begin simply after go on agarden tourwith a friend . Then , over the years , my “ I can do that ” brain took over . I have multiple garden sphere ( which I have given names so my hubby can find me ! ) , admit the sundial garden , where the nursery is located ; thewater garden ; thehostaand heart garden ; and the daylily garden . I do n’t think myself a master nurseryman but one who gardens by suspicion . I enjoy encouraging new gardeners to take that saltation of religion .
The nursery is constructed of reclaimed windows and a stained - field glass transom . The gable end is made of cut steel I designed , swerve , and then painted . The full project was awful , from the contribution — windows , reclaim pavers for the level — and prompt expert services from the water jet steel cutter and , most significantly , my bright carpenter married man ! I named it “ The Grateful Greenhouse . ”

The Grateful Greenhouse sits in a garden occupy with flowers . Dominating in this photo are the native plants : black - eyed Susans ( Rudbeckiafulgida , Zones 4–9 ) , purple coneflower ( Echinaceapurpurea , Zones 3–8 ) , andgarden phlox(Phloxpaniculata , Zones 4–8 ) .
How beautiful is this greenhouse ? And it is awful that so much of it is from donations and rescued materials .
I ’ve never determine a nursery with a pendant in it before !

Inside , the plants are beautifully display on bench , and even an sure-enough stepladder is used as a plant stand .
The incredible gable last , which Dale designed
More big masses of black - eye Susans and garden phlox , both beautiful and much loved by nativepollinators

A wide horizon depict just how much is going on in this garden !
These arresting Asian lilies ( Liliumhybrid , Asian group , Zones 4–9 ) have the most incredible peak colors and patterns of the genus .
An tremendous horn vine ( Campsisradicans , Zones 4–9 ) arch over a logic gate . Trumpet vine are native to eastern North America , and the flowers are much loved byhummingbirds .
